We are d.Void and Missy, we created and own Club Antichrist, and we run it and promote it with help from our team.

This page exists to give you an idea of who we are and why we run AC.

d.Void

d.Void is also the frontman in industrial-goth band Avoidance of Doubt, and has been the driving force in AOD for 6 years. Avoidance of Doubt have toured the UK extensively, playing at the Electric Ballroom, Nottingham Rock City, Koko, Slimelight, the Roadmender and hundreds of other venues. The band has released 2 albums and 2 EPs to date.
 

d.Void also creates all the artwork for the band, some of which can be seen on their myspace here.

We both build websites, and this became a business in 2007, when we started 'Dark Music Art', a company capable of designing and/or creating websites, banners, logos and album art for bands, models and alternative ventures. d has also run various clubs since he was 18 (best not ask how long ago that was...), and was a regular on the London club scene for years, taking in everything from TG, Smack and Perversion to Full Tilt, Slimelight and Synthetic Culture.

Missy

I worked as a stripper for 3 years before joining one of the best-known and worst-run alternative fashion companies in London. I came away from this with a firm understanding of what customer service could be, and am now using that with AC. I've been dancing for AOD for 2 years, getting progressively more naked at each gig... I also worked as a dancer in a rock/metal club for 4 years, dabbled in alt modelling (who hasn't?) and I currently have plans to perform as a bellydancing nun next year....

You are unlikely to see us 'out' at anything other than AC these days, mainly because we are just too damn busy! But also because we live out in the country, and have a (3-legged) dog who requires babysitting...

AntiChrist

AC is a full time job for both of us, and this is what we do: All the artwork is done by d.Void - from flyers to banners to the website backgrounds. He sources all the photos used in the artwork too. d also books most of the djs and all the bands. Missy books all the performers and acts, creates the running orders and administrates the tickets. We both reply to emails, and try to personally reply to all posts and mails on Facebook and Myspace too. Together we come up with all the themes and ideas such as the Halloween raffle, Feb's slave auction, and 2010's trip to Chessington. If you have a suggestion, we're always happy to hear new ideas!

You've seen that AntiChrist is run by the scene, and we really are running it for the scene too. We have no ulterior motive, we're not trying to win customers away from the other clubs, we'd like to co-exist peacefully for the benefit of all alternative people.

Our Team

We have several key members: Pete Valente, our Junior Partner; Sabrina - flyer distribution; Sonya - office administrator and event assistant; Rin - stage manager; Mr Boo - lighting engineer.

These people are all wonderful, and without them AC would suffer!

Our Ethos

The AC ethos is 'everything goes'. More broadly put, we don't want anyone to feel left out. There is no reason why goths should be put off going to a fetish club, or vice versa. We aren't going to ban Nazi insignia just incase someone is offended, for the same reasons we allow nudity - everyone at AC is over 18, and can make their own judgements.

Our Resident DJs:

Jo the Waiter

Born in Glasgow, but quickly assimilated into the capital in his childhood, Jo The Waiter sampled his first taste of Electro at thirteen, and grew addicted to the likes of Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Soft Cell, The Human League and electro god Gary Numan. These influences are often reflected in his tunes, but he's no stranger to delving into something new, as proved by successfully spinning indie and house at a family engagement party. Don't worry folks, Jo The Waiter wouldn't be seen dead playing that professionally.

Devoted to technology, which includes his day job as a control room assistant on the Underground, over the years he has dabbled in composing ‘Bleak Electronica’ and creating remixes, occasionally adding them to his sets.

Jo The Waiter officially lost his DJ virginity in 2006 at Godlike, an inevitable step, and has since built a reputation for himself playing Dark Electro, Industrial and EBM tunes at some of London's best club nights, including a year of events at AntiChrist, numerous Godlike nights and aftershow parties, the first Coition, Syn at the Corporation in Sheffield, and with his electro hero Gary Numan at Club Noir.

Now heavily involved in all aspects of the business, he runs myspace pages for both Flag Promotions and Club Noir, and has co-produced three Gary Numan themed nights entitled "Exiled" at which he also DJ'd.

DJ Trebor

DJ Trebor started DJ'ing by accident! "I caught the promotion/DJ bug in Manchester a few years through my friends at Monster-Monster, I now regularly DJ at events around the UK and run my own nights in Manchester and Chester called Carnival Divine. I love most types of music, a cross over of Heavy Industrial Rock Thrash Grunge & Metal styles I select seems to go down well in the Hellfire, Performance and Chillout rooms at Club Antichrist where I hold a residency. I am proud of the fact that I play for anything upto 9 hours per event. I also DJ alot at Burlesque & Cabaret nights all over the place too with a mix of Swing Rockabilly Surf Rock Indie Motown Northern Soul & Tarantino-Esque tracks. There is nothing I love more than finding new music and blasting it through my speakers and working it into a new set or picturing how it will go down at night...Many props to the 'Voids for giving me the opportunity to ROCK SOME SHIT!"

A genuine sideshow freak trained in skills varying from flame manipulation to hammering a nail into his face to wobbling around on 3ft poles of metal wearing a dress, sex0r is a versatile, fascinating and often bizarre performance artist. Best known for his disgusting, vulgar and obscene stage shows involving mutilated genitalia, guts and infanticide as his alter ego The Jackin' Man, his fascination with the dark, depraved and disturbing twinned with his acerbic sense of humour ensure his shows always  leave a lasting impression. Ringleader of the perverse circus CarniVile, resident performer at Club AntiChrist, long term male member of the Satan's Strip Show troupe - his versatility, skill and undeniable stage presence make him very, very hard to ignore.
